The Juventus hitman responded to comparisons with former Bianconeri star Cristiano Ronaldo after scoring another brace.

Dusan Vlahovic has played down comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo and urged reporters to ‘not overdo it’.

The 23-year-old striker is on a three-game scoring streak for Juventus in Serie A. For the second match in a row, he scored a brace in Sunday’s 3-0 win over Lecce. The victory moved Juve one point clear at the top of the league table.

The Old Lady’s last Serie A triumph was in 2019/20, led by Ronaldo, who scored 31 goals that season.

“Let’s not overdo it, I’m happy because I helped the team,” Vlahovic told DAZN Italia of the Ronaldo comparisons.

“I wouldn’t have done my brace without the team. I thank my teammates, let’s continue like this.”

Vlahovic now has 11 goals in 19 games in Serie A this season, one goal more than he managed in all of the previous campaign.

“I’m physically well, it’s simple,” the Serbian said.

“I work as usual, I take care of my body. I sleep well, I eat well and I train well, the difference with the past season is that I’m fine and I don’t have problems.”

Vlahovic and Juventus return to action on Saturday at home to Empoli in another Serie A match.
