The Barcelona-linked striker has established a reputation as one of the most promising youngsters in Brazil.

Vitor Roque has confirmed Barcelona as his dream destination amid reports linking him with a move to Arsenal.

The 18-year-old has attracted interest from several elite clubs since last season. According to Goal, the Gunners have gone as far as to meet Roque’s representatives.

However, the player himself is keen to continue his career at Camp Nou.

Speaking to SPORT, Roque was asked about a possible move to Barcelona: “Yes, it is a dream not only of mine but also of any player who is appearing.

“If it becomes concrete to end up going to Barça, it will be a great joy for my family and for me… that’s why I have to continue working hard and hope that everything will come to fruition with the tempo.”

According to Brazilian sources, Roque has a £52.5 million release clause in his current deal at Athletico Paranaense. The Catalans, however, are not keen to pay more than £22 million for the teenage striker.

Roque praised Robert Lewandowski, saying he dreams of playing alongside the Polish striker.

“When I see him on TV I always notice his great finishing ability, which I think is his strong point,” he added.

“He is spectacular, I already followed him at Bayern Munich and now at Barcelona.

“If I had a footballer by my side of this level, I would try to learn as much as I could.”
