Little over an hour after Javier Tebas released a statement on Vinicius, the Brazilian hit back at the LaLiga president’s handling of racism in Spain.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior fired back at LaLiga president Javier Tebas’ comments on Twitter, which alleged the Brazilian had been misinformed.

Vinicius boldly stands up against discrimination and refuses to back down. With a powerful social media message on Sunday night, the 22-year-old highlighted the deep-rooted issue of racism in La Liga, claiming ‘Spain is known as a country of racists’ in his native Brazil.

His message came after another round of racial abuse during Real Madrid’s 1-0 defeat to Valencia.

However, in an apparent attempt to absolve LaLiga of any blame, Tebas responded on Twitter with a message of his own.

“Since those who should explain to you what it is LaLiga can and cannot do in cases of racism, we have tried to explain it to you, but you have not shown up for either of the two agreed dates that you requested yourself,” the Spanish league’s president tweeted.

“Before criticizing and insulting LaLiga, it is necessary that you inform yourself properly Vini Jr. Do not let yourself be manipulated and make sure you fully understand each other’s competencies and the work we have been doing together.”

In response, Vinicius replied: “Once again, instead of criticizing racists, the president of LaLiga appears on social media to attack me. As much as you talk and pretend not to read, the image of your championship has been hit by this. See the responses to your posts and you will have a surprise…”

“Omitting yourself only makes you equal to racists. I’m not your friend when talking about racism. I want actions and punishments. Hashtags don’t move me.”
