It was a rowdy night for Chelsea against Krasnodar in the Champions League, they had a powerful performance with four goals.

After failing to win during their opening match against Rennes at home, Chelsea visited Krasnodar in dire need of three points. Frank Lampard had several good news for this visit to Russia for the second match of the season. For starters, this was the first time he could line five of his top transfers on the same starting eleven.

The Blues boss finally got Hakim Ziyech back and played him together with Havertz and Werner. He also had Christian Pulisic back on the bench and ready to use him in the second half. During the first 45 minutes of the game, Callum Hudson-Odoi responded well to Lampard’s trust with his goal after Jorginho missed a penalty early in the game.

But this minor setback didn’t scare Frank Lampard, he knew he had several options on the bench. Today’s match proved that Chelsea has one of the most complete rosters in Europe and they should be a title contender this season.

Lampard’s second-half triple substitution.

Frankie gave his starting eleven another 26 minutes to prove its worth during the second half. After that, he decided to make a triple substitution in order to give other great players some minutes. Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, and N’Golo Kante got in the game.

The American forward had an immediate impact on the game with an impressive second-half performance in the 20 minutes he was on the pitch. First, he got a penalty awarded for the Blues after one of his shots struck a Krasnodar defender’s hand. Werner took the shot this time and he didn’t miss.

Timo assisted Ziyech to score his first goal as a Chelsea player a few minutes later. And to close the performance, Pulisic scored with no angle after an assist from Tammy Abraham. This Chelsea victory leaves them at the top of their group with four units just before Sevilla’s match against Rennes.
