Porto loanee Vitor Ferreira scored his first goal for Wolves this Friday night against Chorley at the FA Cup.

Vitor ‘Vitinha’ Ferreira has been a Wolverhampton Wanderers player for four months now. The 20-year-old midfielder joined the Premier League side on a one-season loan from Portuguese champions Porto. Despite having participated in 11 matches for Wolves this season, Vitinha is usually used as a late substitution and doesn’t get much time to impact the game.

However, the young midfielder grasped the opportunity Nuno Espirito Santo gave him by scoring an unbelievable goal against Chorley. In fact, Vitinha put the ball in the net after only 12 minutes on the pitch.

The play began as Max Kilman handed Vitor Ferreira the ball with a short pass. Although it looked like there was no immediate danger, Vitinha started to move the ball forward slowly. After receiving no pressure at all from Chorley players, the Portuguese midfielder decided to take advantage of the space given and took his chance.

In fact, if we hadn’t looked at the starting line up we would’ve mistaken Vitinha for Ruben Neves. The youngster’s rocket took Chorley’s goalkeeper by surprise, although he never really stood a chance.

Despite this, the player barely celebrated one of the Wanderers’ best goals of the season. Perhaps this type of goal comes easy for Vitinha, who will likely have more chances to show his worth before his loan comes to an end.
