This is not the first time Barcelona fans have harassed Umtiti. Last month, a video went viral, showing two individuals approaching the French defender’s car to remove the wheel caps. The person posting the video demanded action from the club, but the Spanish giants are yet to react to these incidents.
Umtiti’s current deal at Barcelona runs until 2023, with the club eager to offload him from their wage list. However, the Frenchman has refused to move to a new club, as it will come with a pay cut compared to his earnings at Camp Nou.
With the arrival of Xavi Hernandez, fans hoped to see Umtiti back in action, but the newly-appointed manager has not given him any minutes.
