It happened during the match between Portugal and Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo ended another myth about his passing through his skills.

There has always been a confusing myth about Cristiano Ronaldo’s passing skills, naysayers believe he isn’t that great with assists. In the never-ending comparison with Lionel Messi, the critics keep trying to push a narrative that wants to portray Cristiano as a player who doesn’t pass the ball that much.

However, the numbers don’t lie as he’s given an incredible 263 career-assists. In today’s friendly against Spain, he was really close to another after an outrageous piece of skill. Despite ending with a 0-0 draw, Portugal dominated against ‘La Roja’ with another Cristiano Ronaldo show. Only the crossbar was able to stop his attempts to defeat the Spanish National Team in Jose Alvalade stadium tonight.

The first half gave us a relatively leveled game between both sides. CR7 was given the armband and his 167th cap for Portugal. His goal was to reach his 100th international victory, something he really tried this evening.

The crossbar spared Spain from Ronaldo’s wrath.

Cristiano seemed like a man on a mission tonight. It took him only seven minutes into the second half to remind Spain how much they dread his skills. A potent shot from the outskirts of the box hit the crossbar with Kepa completely vanquished. Not soon after that, came the piece of skill that everybody is gushing for.

Ronaldo saw Renato Sanches wide open on the other side of the box and decided to assist him with a gorgeous cross. The former Bayern youngster connected with Cristiano’s pass but the crossbar denied Portugal once again. Regardless of the end result, it was clear that the Portugal skipper dominated this game through and through.

Spain had its best chances too, but only after Ronaldo got off the pitch near the end of the match. Fernando Santos knows he has one of Europe’s most competitive squads with seasoned Ronaldo as the cherry on top.
