Before confronting the referee, Barcelona star Pique got involved in a little verbal altercation with Real Madrid’s Modric.

Real Madrid won the infamous Clasico 2-1 on Saturday, but not without drama or controversy.

Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman was furious by referee Gil Manzano’s decision to not award his side a late penalty after Martin Braithwaite fell as Ferland Mendy grabbed him inside the box.

The visitors almost grabbed an equalizer with virtually the last kick of the match when Ilaix Moriba hit the bar. In the end, though, it wasn’t to be. Real Madrid instead claimed the spoils of victory thanks to Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos’ goals.

But Gerard Pique, who spent the match on the bench after just recovering from a knee injury, wasn’t impressed. He charged off to confront the referee at the final whistle, convinced there should’ve been four minutes of injury-time added on.

And as Pique made his way towards Manzano, Modric couldn’t resist a little dig.

“You’re waiting for the ref to complain, huh?” Modric told Pique as quoted by SB Nation editor, Lucas Navarrete.

Pique replied: “Well, four minutes…”

“How many more do you want?” Modric responded before walking off.
