Following his disrupting comments regarding his future, Romelu Lukaku has issued a formal apology for all the Chelsea supporters.

Romelu Lukaku has put forth an apology to Thomas Tuchel, his Chelsea colleagues and the supporters for his recent controversial comments.

The Belgium international told Sky Sports Italia that he was not content with the German coach’s tactics. Moreover, he also stated that he wishes to return to Inter Milan in the future because of his positive relationship with the club.

As a consequence of his words, Lukaku was excluded from Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday. However, the big man has taken it upon himself to make things right with a formal message for everyone.

What did he say?

Lukaku said on a video on the Blues’ Twitter: “To the fans, I’m sorry for the upset that I caused.”

“You guys know the connection that I have with this club since my teenage years. So I totally understand you guys being upset. Obviously, it’s up to me now to restore your trust. And I’ll do my best to show commitment every day on the training ground. And in the games to make sure we win games.”

“To the manager, I apologise and to my teammates and the squad. Because I think it was not the right moment. And I want to move forward from this, make sure we start winning football games. And that I perform for the team in the best manner.”
