It happened during Eintracht Frankfurt’s visit to Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday, Luka Jovic sent another message to Zinedine Zidane.
Luka Jovic keeps sending messages to Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid. While Los Blancos just got painfully eliminated in Copa del Rey, the Serbian striker keeps going back to his best form at Eintracht Frankfurt. As it turns out, all Zidane needs to do is to use Jovic as a striker and he will score goals. We all saw how he made his comeback with the German club, a brace that allowed him to return to his old self.
But today, he doesn’t stop with more goals coming from his confidence. Eintracht Frankfurt’s manager still doesn’t think Jovic is ready to start in a game, but he does use the striker as a replacement in the second half. As the Eagles were winning 1-4 at Arminia Bielefeld, Luka came in to score the fifth goal after nine minutes on the pitch. The shot was a volley with his left foot that the goalkeeper wasn’t able to reach, but it was also something else.
Zidane must be fuming at Jovic’s success.
The fact that Luka Jovic hasn’t been able to show that same form at Real Madrid and plays great in the Bundesliga can reveal a number of reasons. Obviously, it’s clear that playing for the best club in football history carries quite a bit of weight for any footballer. But the level of performance is very different when you compare one competition to the other. Spanish football is arguably better than German football, which is what affects Jovic’s level.
Plus, competing against Karim Benzema is another reason why Jovic doesn’t get more chances. ‘Zizou‘ trusts the Frenchman blindly and he is the man who took Los Blancos to conquer the most recent La Liga title. Despite the situation, Jovic remains hopeful he can still convince Zidane that he has what it takes to play for Real Madrid. Can he make it happen?
