United’s midfield needs more balance.

The Dutch midfielder is a fantastic player but he simply doesn’t fit in a starting eleven that already has Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes. Although he scored United’s only goal, it’s evident he takes a lot of space from the other two stars when they try to create chances.
This United midfield looked far too defensive compared to the one from last season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to fix this issue as soon as possible, but the season is still young. United had this match to experiment before things got more serious.
Ole needs a new centre-back.
Considering Harry Maguire might be out of his element, it’s clear that Manchester United needs another top defender this season. Wilfried Zaha made Victor Lindelof look like a rookie tonight, the United supporters had no mercy with him on social media.
Zaha’s second goal proves those two defenders are not used to playing together and the squad can’t continue like this. Also, every offensive United player was nowhere to be seen this evening. Solskjaer has a lot of work to do at Carrington if he wants to compete for titles this season.
