The GOAT debate saga between Messi and Ronaldo has been a never-ending one that has drawn mixed responses, but Vidal believes the answer is obvious.

Arturo Vidal reckons there is ‘no comparison’ whatsoever between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Chilean midfielder believes his former Barcelona teammate Messi is miles clear of Ronaldo on ‘another planet’ and, therefore, believes comparing the duo makes no sense when the answer is so obvious.

“There is no comparison between Messi and Ronaldo,” Vidal told Corriere dello Sport when asked for his opinion on the GOAT debate.

“Leo is from another planet. Of the two years I spent with him, many things have remained in my heart.

“A beautiful friendship was born between us, a relationship that will remain forever. United for life.

“I was fine at Barcelona, though I came here because we have everything to win.”

Vidal partnered Messi at Barcelona between 2018 and 2020, making 81 appearances alongside the six-time Ballon d’Or winner. They won LaLiga and Spanish Supercup titles in his first season at Camp Nou.

The 33-year-old joined Italian giants Inter Milan in the summer on a free transfer after becoming surplus to requirements at Barcelona.
