Man United defender Victor Lindelof jumped in defence of an old woman and stopped her from getting robbed while on holiday in Sweden.

When he’s not preventing the ball from going into his net, Lindelof is preventing crime from happening off the pitch.

The 26-year-old is in his home city of Vasteras in Sweden taking a short summer break as next season looms already.

Lindelof was in the right place at the right time to stop a petty thief.

Swedish daily publication Aftonbladet reported that the defender took after a thief that stole a purse from a 90-year-old woman.

Lindelof is said to have sprinted off after the offender, before tracking him down and keeping them pinned to the ground.

Police services were called and arrived on the scene to see that the 26-year-old already ‘solved’ that case.

A local police report on the incident read: “a man who was nearby must have run after the suspected perpetrator, caught up with him and kept him until the police arrived at the scene.”

Lindelof was reportedly with his wife in public when the incident occurred. The apprehended criminal in question is said to be in his 30’s.

While one United player is solving crime, another defensive name in Maguire finds himself on the opposite end of the law.
