The Nigerian star has attracted interest from a number of elite sides across Europe.

Victor Boniface has revealed his love for Arsenal amid speculations over his possible move away from Bayer Leverkusen.

Since completing a £17m move from Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer, Boniface has established himself as one of Bundesliga’s most reliable strikers. Having already registered ten goals and seven assists for Leverkusen, Boniface has reportedly attracted interest from several top clubs, including in the Premier League.

The Nigerian star has now revealed he has been a fan of Arsenal since his childhood.

“For me, right from a young age I’ve supported Arsenal all my life,” he said on the John Obi Mikel podcast.

“I loved watching Arsenal because of Kanu. It’s that thing that where a Nigerian player plays, you tend to support your own.”

Arsenal are desperate to add a new striker to their ranks this January as their goalscoring struggles continue. The Gunners, who’ve scored once in their last three matches, hoped to secure a move for Brentford’s Ivan Toney in the current transfer window. But the English striker looks set to stay at Brentford until at least the next summer. Boniface, on the other hand, is out with a serious knee injury, with Leverkusen expecting to have him back in early April.
