The Spanish giants have issued a statement in response to reports they have agreed to sell Carlos Soler.

Valencia have denied reports that they have agreed to sell midfielder Carlos Soler to La Liga rivals Barcelona.

In the early hours of Monday morning, Diario AS claimed the LaLiga clubs had agreed on a €20 million fee for Barcelona to sign Soler in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Spanish outlet added that Frenkie de Jong’s rumored €70 million summer sale would be key to getting the deal done.

Valencia deny Barcelona agreement

But Valencia have emphatically denied this claim, insisting there is no deal in place for Soler to join Barca.

“In response to a story published this Monday in Spanish newspaper Diario AS, Valencia CF deny the existence of any agreement -or any ongoing negotiation- with FC Barcelona for the transfer of Carlos Soler.” read a club statement.

“The club are currently in an open negotiation process with the player and his agents to extend his contract with Valencia CF.”

Soler, who has been at Valencia for his entire career, is under contract at the Mestalla until June 2023.

The 25-year-old Spain international has managed 11 goals and five assists in 28 LaLiga appearances this season.
