The Eredivisie giants have added a new striker to their ranks.

Ricardo Pepi is on the verge of joining PSV Eindhoven on a €10m transfer from Augsburg.

Pepi started his European career by joining the Bundesliga side from FC Dallas in January 2022. But only a few months later, he decided to join Dutch side Groningen in search of regular playing time.

Brilliant performances in Eredivisie have earned the American youngster a move to PSV ahead of the next campaign.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Pep has agreed to join PSV on a five-year contract. The 20-year-old stays at Eredivisie, where he has developed himself into one of the league’s most promising strikers.

Last season, Pepi registered 12 goals and three assists for Groningen in 29 appearances. However, his fantastic form wasn’t enough to save the team from relegation.

Pepi was also surprisingly dropped from USMNT’s squad for the World Cup. Earlier this week, the former Augsburg star reacted to the news of Gregg Berhalter’s re-appointment as the national team’s manager.

“I think it’s great,” he said (via ESPN). “It’s good for the team. It’s great for me, and like I said, anything that happened, it’s in the past.”

Pepi could make his unofficial PSV debut when the Dutch giants take on STVV in their first pre-season game next weekend.
