After a new test that was conducted on Wednesday, we have a fresh update on Mohamed Salah’s coronavirus situation right now.

Mohamed Salah tested positive for coronavirus earlier last week and he immediately got into isolation during his national team call-up. The Egyptian Football Federation made the announcement after an initial test was conducted on the Liverpool star. It was expected that a new test could possibly offer a negative result but the news is not what people expected.

As it turns out, Mohamed Salah will remain in isolation for more time until he tests negative. The player got his most recent result and he came out positive again. Sky Sports echoed a statement from the Egyptian FA that was published earlier on Wednesday.

“Today, Mohamed Salah, the star of the national team and the English club Liverpool, made a new swab to detect the Covid-19 virus, but its result was positive,” said the statement from the Egyptian Football Federation.

Salah is set to miss next weekend’s action.

The English FA states that any player who tests positive for the virus has to go on a 10-day isolation period. This is the time in which the disease makes its way through the infected patient’s system and comes out. More tests will be conducted on Salah in the coming days until a negative result emerges.

For now, the forward will most likely miss Liverpool’s Premier League match against Leicester City on Sunday. The only way he will play that game is if he gets a negative result 24 hours prior to kick-off at Anfield Road. Otherwise, there is no scenario in which Salah will suit up to play a football match.

As far as we have been told by the club, the player remains in good health and eager to fully recover in order to help his club. Mo is just one more of the many players who are currently unavailable for Jurgen Klopp due to various health issues.
