After a surprise signing on the transfer deadline day, United’s new boy cannot wait to join forces with Edinson Cavani.

Facundo Pellistri expressed his joy to receive a comment from the new Manchester United teammate Edinson Cavani. Consequently, the youngster sent his message across to the former PSG striker to become famous at Old Trafford.

The Uruguayan attacking duo joined United on the last day of the summer transfer window.

Unfortunately, Cavani will not feature for the Red Devils due to self-quarantine. Though, the veteran forward did not take time to praise Pellistri.

Subsequently, he described the 18-year-old as a “typical South American footballer with rage on the field”

“The way he lives his football is a bit like, as we say in Uruguay, being on ‘el campito’, as we call it, a makeshift pitch where you have a kickabout for fun with your mates or whoever,” Cavani told United’s official website.

“He’s a youngster who has a lot to learn but who has a lot to offer too. He’s already shown what he can do at Penarol in the games where he’s featured.

In the meantime, Boca Juniors legend Roman Riquelme said that Pellistri is a “rascal” on the ground.

Pellestri excited to show his skills.

Pellistri received questions regarding such comments from the greats. He told United’s official website: “It’s something unbelievable.

“It’s fantastic to hear such comments from the players they were and are, as Cavani is going to be a team-mate of mine.

“I’m very glad and I’m happy to hear those comments.”

Cavani connected to numerous top-tier clubs before arriving at United. Therefore, Pellistri added: “I’m very happy [to be his team-mate] and hoping he arrives soon.

“Cavani is a very top player, so I think he will be a great player here also.”

Evidently, Pellistri played with Penarol since the age of 10. He appeared for the first time with the Montevideo giants in August 2019. Thus, he continued playing for the senior team since.

In spite of the scare from the virus situation, the teenager grabbed two goals and 10 assists in just 14 outings.

As a result, he caught the attention of top-notch clubs such as Real Madrid and Lyon.
