After a distinct difficulty scoring in the Europa League semi-final defeat, Manchester United is being urged to break the bank for Harry Kane.

The tale of the tape does not lie. Manchester United had 20 shots against Sevilla and managed just one goal, which came from the penalty spot.

The stats made even worse reading in the previous game against Copenhagen all be it ending in victory.

Whether it was nerves, fatigue, or just simply a lack of quality, United could not find the back of the net and paid dearly for it.

The rumored focus of the Red Devils’ transfer activity is said to be on Jadon Sancho. A creative winger with an eye for goal. However, he is definitely not an out and out goal scorer.

Martial, Rashford and Greenwood have scored goals this season and collectively have been one of the best trios around. But they are not delivering goals at the rate required to catch the likes of Liverpool and City, and certainly not to conquer Europe.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has plenty of work to do in the transfer market to continue to catch the leading pack and his focus appears on Sancho, even if it breaks the bank.

Former Liverpool man Charlie Adam believes they are buying the wrong player. Speaking to the BBC, he is convinced United should go for broke and get Harry Kane.

Adam said:

“I’d rather they went and spent £120m on Harry Kane.”

“You could have Martial out wide, you have Greenwood out wide, you have Rashford out wide and have Harry Kane as your main man.”

What do you think?
