It happened today during an interview, a Manchester United player completely snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo as the best in the world.

Manchester United players should get better PR lessons when they are asked about Cristiano Ronaldo. Due to his past as a Red Devil, there is an unwritten rule that states all United players must show a level of respect to the Portuguese star. There is always the possibility he could return in the future and they can’t be on bad terms with him.

We are not saying Manchester United players aren’t allowed to have their own opinion, but PR is always important when you are a professional footballer. In this case, Scott McTominay had a slip up when he was asked who the best player in the world is. Even though he didn’t leave Leo Messi in a good spot with his story, he didn’t even mention Cristiano Ronaldo. This should always be a huge red flag for any Red Devil.

McTominay’s story with Messi.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Scott McTominay revealed who the best player in the world is right now. He was pretty honest about it while he shared a story when he faced Leo Messi in the Champions League last season: “Messi, 100 percent. Yeah, Messi, Messi. I got his shirt, you know? So, whenever we played against him for Barcelona [in 2019], Chris Smalling elbowed him and he’s got blood coming out of his nose. And he thought it was me.

“Because I said to Sergio Romero: ‘Please can you ask Messi to get his shirt?’. Sergio comes back in and said: ‘Oh, he thinks you were the one who elbowed him on the halfway line’. I said: ‘No, no, no, no – tell him it wasn’t me, so make sure I get that shirt because that’s going in my bedroom’. So he knows it wasn’t me now. Sorry Chrissy, but he was the one who roughed him up a bit.”
