Thiago Alcantara has been linked with a move to Anfield but it seems Manchester United have usurped them in the race for the Spanish maestro.

Liverpool are in the running for Thiago Alcantra. The midfielder won the Champions League with Bayern Munich and wants to leave Bundesliga on a high.

The Premier League champions have been haggling over the transfer fee and talks have stalled. Hansi Flick cheekily suggested at Alcantara staying.

However, it seems that it may not come to fruition that way. Both Bayern and Liverpool will be left empty handed as Manchester United look to secure his services.

Both The Daily Star and Bild have reported that the Red Devils are looking to make a £30 million bid for him. It will be more than enough for the record German champions to allow Alcantara to leave.

Thiago will be enticed with the project at Old Trafford. Playing alongside Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba is an interesting prospect for the midfielder.

If United were to steal the midfielder from right under Liverpool’s noses, this will be the third time a player has rejected them in favor of other pursuers.

The Reds were linked with Timo Werner and Kai Havertz. Werner is already at the Stamford Bridge, while Havertz agreed personal terms and haggling over the transfer fee continues.
