Ex-Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood says Manchester United are low on finances and don’t have resources to sign Jadon Sancho this summer.

Manchester United made Jadon Sancho their top summer target but it hasn’t gone to plan so far.

The Red Devils have failed to meet Borussia Dortmund’s valuation of the player.

Some reports in the English media continue to claim Sancho to United might still happen but it is a different story from the German camp.

Over the past few weeks, many top names at Dortmund have publicly stated that their intention is to keep their star forward at the club.

Asides Sancho, United have also missed out on Grealish who just signed a new contract at Villa and Bale who looks poised to join Tottenham. So far, Van de Beek is the only addition at Old Trafford this summer.

Tim Sherwood says all of this is because the Red Devils are ‘out of cash’.

“Jack Grealish’s contract is great news for Aston Villa, what a signing that is.” the ex-Spurs and Villa boss told talkSPORT.

“I thought he was nailed on to go to Manchester United, but it’s quite clear after the Van de Beek deal they’ve run out of money.”

“No Gareth Bale, no Jack Grealish, there’s no more money. There will be no Jadon Sancho that’s for sure.”

“They’ve run out of money, otherwise it was a no-brainer in my opinion to take that boy [Grealish] to Manchester United.”

Elsewhere Manchester United have been urged to move on and look away from Jadon Sancho as they already have good enough options.
