The former Arsenal manager has returned to the Premier League to replace Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa.
Unai Emery has outlined his long-term goals as the new Aston Villa manager.
The club appointed Emery shortly after their decision to part ways with Steven Gerrard.
The Spaniard arrives at Villa Park after spending a successful spell at Villarreal. Having won the Europa League with his former side, Emery is already eyeing trophies at Aston Villa.
“My dream is to win a trophy with Aston Villa,” said the former Arsenal manager.
“It’s my personal challenge at the beginning. And my second dream, my objective could be to play with Aston Villa in Europe.
“But now we have to start thinking only [about] the next match because we are not in a good position in the table now, and each match is going to give us a lot of information from the players and I want to test, to check individually and collectively the players.
“The next match is my only focus now, Sunday against Manchester United, and, of course, playing here at home.”
Aston Villa has slipped to the 16th spot on the table after their disastrous start to the season.
Emery will face Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in his first game in charge of the Midlands side.
