The Portuguese superstar and a handful of players left Old Trafford before the full-time whistle of the club’s 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has branded the early departures of several players, including Cristiano Ronaldo, in last Sunday’s friendly against Rayo Vallecano as ‘unacceptable’.
Ronaldo was pictured leaving Old Trafford with Diogo Dalot, who had sat in the directors’ box with several players, before the final whistle after playing the first half of the 1-1 draw.
“It is unacceptable for everyone,” Ten Hag told Viaplay Sport Netherlands.
“I am telling them it’s unacceptable. We are a team. A squad. Until the end, we stay together.”

Various reports have claimed Ten Hag had asked all the players, including those who played in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in Oslo, to eat and watch the match together before kick-off on Sunday.
Ronaldo’s early exit came amid rumors claiming that he wants to leave United for a Champions League club this season.
The 37-year-old missed the Red Devils’ pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia due to a family issue. He returned to training last week and is working to regain full fitness for the new season.
