Ace Football presents detailed betting tips on the upcoming UEFA Nations League games of the week.
As we prepare for the first matchday of the UEFA Nations League 2022, our experts take a look at the bookmakers’ predictions for the upcoming games.
Let’s check out three betting tips for Matchday 1 of the Nations League.
Expect goals when Croatia host Austria
Since beating Russia 1-0 in their last World Cup qualifying game, Croatia have played two friendly matches. They suffered an underwhelming draw against Slovenia before beating Bulgaria 2-1 back in March.
Having scored 13 goals in their last five matches, we expect Croatia to find the back of the net in the upcoming game. However, their opponents have also enjoyed great attacking form lately.
The Austrians have scored more than twice in three of their last four matches. Given the two sides’ attacking stats, we expect to see an entertaining game on Friday.
Goals likely on both sides when Serbia take on Norway
Serbian pulled off a miracle when they secured automatic qualification to the World Cup by beating Portugal. Dusan Vlahovic and co will have to meet Norway in their first Nations League clash.
Despite failing to score in their last match against Denmark, we expect Serbia to get back to goalscoring ways on home soil. They have so many brilliant attackers who have consistently delivered in important games lately.
However, we don’t see any shortage of attacking talent on the other side of the pitch either. A goal-hungry Erling Haaland is surely motivated to make up for his World Cup absence in the Nations League. We expect both sides to push for goals in the upcoming game.
Don’t expect goals when England meet Serbia
Hungary held England to a 1-1 draw in their World Cup qualifier last October. The Three Lions have won all of their games with at least two goals since then.
However, we expect a different scenario for their upcoming match against Hungary. The hosts’ recent defensive stats convince us they will be able to withstand England’s attacks.
On the other hand, Hungary’s poor attacking displays suggest they won’t be able to do much on the counter-attacks.
