The UEFA awards for the best player, young player, and team have been announced for the Champions League 2021/22 campaign.
Player of the Season – Karim Benzema
The French striker inspired Real Madrid to a 14th European title, and his fifth with the club. He finished as the tournament’s top scorer with 15 goals. 10 of these goals came in the knockout stage, a record he now shares with Cristiano Ronaldo, and they helped his team produce jaw-dropping comebacks against Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Manchester City.

The 21-year-old winger scored the only goal in last weekend’s final to bag Real Madrid a 1-0 win over Liverpool. Vinicius finished the campaign with four goals and seven assists in 13 games. He will hope to build on these stats when Carlo Ancelotti’s men try to defend their title next season.
