Ace Football brings you the list of UEFA Europa League top scorers from the 2021-22 season and a list of past Golden Boot winners.
Africa leads the way as Karl Toko Ekambi, Victor Osimhen, and Patson Daka occupy the top three spots in the Europa League top scorers battle.
Ekambi is the player with the most goals in the Europa League this season. The Cameronian winger scored his second brace in a row on Thursday to steer Lyon to a 4-3 win over Sparta Prague. He now has five goals to his name in only three group-stage fixtures.
It was Daka, though, who stole the headlines. Fresh from his first Premier League goal against Manchester United last weekend, the Zambia international was on target again for Leicester City on Wednesday. He scored a memorable quadruple in a 4-3 thriller against Spartak Moscow.
Osimhen, meanwhile, came off the bench to continue his prolific form for Napoli. The Nigeria international scored the second goal of the game to help the Italian club defeat Legia Warsaw 3-0.
Europa League Top Scorers
Who finished as the top scorer last season?
Four players finished as the Europa League’s top scorer last season on seven goals each in Gerard Moreno (Villarreal), Pizzi (Benfica), Borja Mayoral (Roma), and Yusuf Yazıcı (Lille).
To decide who finished first, UEFA sorted the list based on the number of assists each player made. In this case, Moreno got the nod. The Spanish striker’s contributions played a key part in Villarreal winning the tournament itself.
