UEFA declares the best forward of the year award for 2019-20

UEFA announced the men’s best forward of the season 2019-20 at Geneva as Champions League draws were disclosed.

The wait is finally over. Millions around the world awaited the prize distribution events across the football industry.

The European Football’s governing body, UEFA, publicized the men’s best forward of the year for season 2019-20.

There was too much eagerness surrounding this topic. Although, all the doubts are now cleared!

Bayern Munich super striker Robert Lewandowski achieved the highest degree of an award. Many claimed that the Poland international deserved to be honored for his spectacular season.

Offensive firepower!

Bayern won everything last season. Evidently, the Bavarian giants secured their second treble in the history of European football. Also, Barcelona is the only other club to do so.

The German club under Hansi Flick was destructive in the season 2019-20. Subsequently, they managed to keep a record of winning the treble without losing a single game.

Without a doubt, Lewandowski served as a goalscoring machine for Bayern. He played 31 fixtures for the club in Bundesliga with 34 goals and 4 assists.

Furthermore, the 32-year-old won the golden boot for the Champions League. He netted 15 goals during the campaign, with 6 assists to his name. 

In total, Lewandowski appeared 47 times for Bayern in all competitions. Consequently, his goal tally reached to 55 goals.

The forward helped the club bring European glory at Allianz Arena. Bayern beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the Champions League final in Lisbon. 

Although Lewandowski did not score, his contribution to the tournament is extraordinary.

Moreover, the Polish forward scored 16 more goals than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues. This includes all the competitions during 2019-20.

Certainly, the team’s phenomenal performance and durable bonding helped Lewandowski achieve this feat.

In addition, he also won the UEFA Player of the Year award for the season 2019-20.
