UEFA announced the nominees for the Men’s Player of the Year award along with similar other elite prizes on Thursday.

UEFA has finally announced the contenders of the Player of the Year award, with Chelsea duo Jorginho and N’Golo Kante joined by Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne on the list.

The Chelsea pair relished a blissful last season as they heaved the Champions League trophy in May. And Thomas Tuchel had complete faith in Jorginho and Kante as they made first-team starts on the occasion.

Besides this implausible success, the Chelsea duo also helped the club win the UEFA Super Cup by beating Villareal in the final. Additionally, the Londoners managed to secure a fourth spot in the Premier League thanks to these two gentlemen.

Whereas, De Bruyne played a crucial part to get Manchester City their English League crown. In spite of spending time in rehabilitation, the Belgian star received the PFA Player of the Year award for the second time in succession.

Along with these nominees, UEFA also put up the names for other similar awards. All three spots for the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year have been grabbed by Barcelona stars Jennifer Hermoso, Lieke Martens, and Alexia Putellas.

When it comes to the UEFA Coach of the Year prize, the three top runners are Pep Guardiola, Thomas Tuchel, and Roberto Mancini. And finally, the nominees for the UEFA Women’s Coach of the Year award are Lluis Cortes, Peter Gerhardsson, and Emma Hayes.

The winners of all these rewards will be disclosed during the 2021-22 Champions League group-stage draw event on August 26.
