While Ronaldo’s return has taken the headlines for today, the addition of Eriksen and Martinez proved a welcome sight for Man Utd.

Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez arrived together for their first Manchester United training session.

Erik ten Hag’s side returned to their Carrington training base on Tuesday after concluding their pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, welcoming some old and new faces to the scene.

The most obvious one was Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese arrived with his agent, Jorge Mendes, for talks with manager Ten Hag. His return, especially given the rumors circulating about his future, commanded most of the attention as the team arrived for training.

But there was also the welcome sight of Eriksen and Martinez arriving together in the same vehicle, with the former behind the wheel, after completing their summer transfers to United.

Eriksen joined the Red Devils on a free transfer from Brentford earlier this month. The 30-year-old Danish midfielder has signed a contract with the club until June 2025.

Martinez, on the other hand, has reunited with former Ajax boss Ten Hag at Old Trafford. The 24-year-old Argentine defender has reportedly arrived from Ajax for a fee worth £57 million. United sealed the deal last week and could officially unveil him later this week.

Martinez is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Premier League side, with an option for another 12 months included.

Man Utd will next play Spanish side Rayo Vallecano this Sunday for their final pre-season friendly. They’ll then host Brighton for their Premier League opener on August 8.
