Following news of Lars Stindl’s planned exit, Gladbach have announced another two players will follow the captain out of the club.

Marcus Thuram and Ramy Bensebaini will leave Borussia Monchengladbach once their contracts expire at the end of the season.

Thuram, son of former France defender Lilian Thuram, has caught the interest of clubs around Europe following a prolific campaign. At Borussia Park, the attacker has put away 13 goals and four assists in 26 Bundesliga games.

Bensebaini, who plays as a left-back, is expected to join Borussia Dortmund.

“We were in an open discussion with both players and knew their current position. It is a shame that they won’t extend their current contracts,” Gladbach sporting director Roland Virkus said.

“We also understand that our fans are disappointed that both aren’t staying.

“In the past years, it has always been part of our approach to pick up talented players, develop them further, and at a certain point in time also allow them to leave, because we can’t keep them forever.

“In an ideal world, we would have picked up an attractive transfer fee. It is obviously not good that now this is not the case.”

This announcement came just a day after captain Lars Stindl announced he will pull the curtain on an eight-year spell at Gladbach this summer.
