The Blancos returned one of their most promising youngsters to La Liga this summer.
Real Madrid loanee Reinier Jesus has opened up on his two-year spell at Borussia Dortmund.
A two-year loan move saw Reinier playing only 471 minutes for the Bundesliga giants. During this period, Reinier played under three coaches at Dortmund but couldn’t escape the bottom of their midfield pecking order.
Speaking to AS, the Brazilian star admitted he is happy to have left the German side.
He said: “Two lost years. I just wanted to get out of there. I did my part, I trained, I went home and I was there every day.
“I always arrived on time, I respected all the people who worked at the club. I have a clear conscience.”
Upon leaving Dortmund, Real Madrid loaned Reinier out to Girona, where he made his La Liga debut earlier this season.
“It’s a good start, I’m gaining confidence, gaining minutes. I am very happy with this choice for me and my family,” he said about his new club.
He added: “I want to follow my path, whether it’s here or if it’s with another team, the important thing is to be happy, to be well, to be giving your best.”
