Tuesday’s transfer rumors – Barcelona plotting double swoop in January

Milenkovic on Spurs’ radar.

Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic is linked with a move to Tottenham ahead of the January transfer window.

The Serbian center-back is tied to the Serie A side until 2022. While the club want to prolong his stay, interest from abroad could cause a hindrance in their efforts to extend his contract.

Spurs and Milan have already approached the agent of Milenkovic, who is valued at around €25 million. [La Nazoine]

Digne in line for Everton extension.

Everton are preparing a hand Lucas Digne a new long-term contract in a bid to fend off interest from Manchester City.

The left-back has started all but one of the Toffees’ games this season and contributed four assists, though he is currently out injured.

Digne emerged as a target for Man City in recent weeks and Everton, hence, want to tie their prized asset down despite over two years remaining on his contract. [The Times]

Barca have two targets for January.

FC Barcelona are preparing to bring in Eric Garcia and Memphis Depay when the transfer market opens.

The Manchester City defender is out of contract at the end of the season and so is the Olympique Lyon forward.

Barca could sign both their targets for free in the summer but manager Ronald Koeman aims to reinforce his squad that has been weakened by injuries to key players as early as possible.

Lyon are willing to sell Depay for €5 million in January. [Sport]

Leverkusen pair set for exit.

Lars Bender and Sven Bender are ready to part ways with Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.

The twins will drop to free agency at the end of the season having decided against renewing their contract beyond 2020.

The Bender brothers are to retire after the 2020/21 Bundesliga campaign due to health reasons with ‘pain and physical problems’ making it ‘increasingly difficult’ for them to continue. [Official Bayer Twitter]
