Ramos wants to stay at PSG

Despite an underwhelming first season at Paris Saint-Germain, Sergio Ramos wants to stay at the Ligue 1 club beyond his current contract – which is until June 2023.

Speaking to Amazon Prime Video, Ramos said: “I would like to play between four to five more years at a high level and then have another experience. Here, I have two years in Paris, we will try to do three, one more, and then we will see. But as long as the physique holds up, I think I’ll be able to keep my mind focused.”

Modric and Real Madrid keen for a new deal

Luka Modric and Real Madrid are keen to complete a new contract.

Modric’s current deal ends in the summer. Both player and club want an extension, but there is a handicap. Real Madrid want to reduce Modric’s salary. The 36-year-old took a 10% reduction last season to help the club’s finances because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The midfielder’s agent, however, wants his previous wage of €12.5 million per season restored, or at least for him to stay on what he is on now. [Gianluca Di Marzio]
