Arsenal identify a top replacement for club-record signing

Wolves winger Pedro Neto is next on Arsenal’s list of transfer targets as a potential Nicolas Pepe replacement.

Pepe, who joined Arsenal from Lille for a club-record fee of €80 million in 2019, might go on loan to OGC Nice. This move would give the Gunners an opportunity to sign a new winger.

Neto is the man Arsenal want. Talks between the club and the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, have been ongoing for over a month. Mikel Arteta’s side, however, will only pursue a deal if it is affordable and can improve the squad. [The Athletic]

Aubameyang-Chelsea talks have advanced

Chelsea are in advanced talks to sign Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

An agreement is said to be close, with all parties confident a deal will go through. Chelsea and Barcelona have been locked in talks for the past few days. The two clubs appear set to agree on a transfer fee of around £15 million to £25 million. [Sky Sports]

Barcelona plot Bellerin swoop

The Blaugrana are plotting a last-minute swoop for Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin.

As talks for Villarreal’s Juan Foyth and Borussia Dortmund’s Thomas Meunier stall, Barcelona have, therefore, turned their attention to Bellerin. The Catalan could be available for a free transfer if he terminates his Arsenal contract. He spent last season on loan at Real Betis in La Liga.
