The Blues have started their efforts to quickly replace the German coach.

Chelsea have reportedly entered negotiations with Brighton manager Graham Potter to take over from Thomas Tuchel.

The Blues sacked the 49-year-old after his side’s 1-0 defeat against Dynamo Zagreb on Tuesday.

An underwhelming start to the new Champions League season was enough to convince the new Chelsea owners to dismiss Tuchel.

The German boss leaves Stamford Bridge after a £273m transfer window that saw Chelsea adding eight new players to their squad.

According to 90min, the London side are considering Graham Potter as their ‘primary target’ to replace Tuchel.

Brighton, who are enjoying a wonderful start to the new season under Potter, have permitted Chelsea to enter negotiations with the English gaffer.

Other options?

Widespread reports in English media confirm Chelsea are prioritizing a move for Potter.

However, the West London side are also considering other candidates to take charge at Stamford Bridge.

Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane, who are both out of work at the moment, have emerged among Chelsea’s targets.

The former Tottenham and Real Madrid coaches are accompanied by lesser-known Ruben Amorim, who has impressed at Sporting CP in recent seasons.

Tuchel’s assistant Anthony Barry will lead Chelsea to their next league game against Fulham on Saturday.
