PSG boss Thomas Tuchel has joked Kylian Mbappe is at his best when he’s playing alongside Neymar in the attack.

Thomas Tuchel claims Mbappe is more lethal in attack when playing in a front trio that includes Neymar.

PSG grabbed yet another crucial win in Ligue with their 3-0 victory over Nice on Sunday afternoon.

The trio of Mbappe, Mauro Icardi and Angel Di Maria lead the line for Les Parisiens in that game.

Tuchel has seen his lineup weakened of late due to injuries and suspensions altogether.

There were fears on whether Mbappe would be available to feature after recovering from coronavirus which he suffered on international duty.

Thankfully for PSG and Tuchel, the Frenchman marked his return with the first goal for his side from the penalty spot.

Playing without Neymar for the first time this season, Tuchel joked the forward’s best position is alongside his Brazilian colleague.

“For me, his best position is close to Neymar. If we don’t have Ney, we have to find something else!” Tuchel laughed as he spoke to the press as quoted by Goal.

“In fact, I really like it when Kylian plays as a second attacker.”

“We started in a 4-4-2 and after Gana’s [Idrissa Gueye] injury, we went to 4-3-3, but that doesn’t change much for Kylian. Mauro likes to play inside, Kylian likes to go left. I hope he continues to play as well as this.”

After a poor start to their Ligue 1 campaign, PSG now move to 7th place after yet another consecutive win.

The French champions take on Reims next Sunday and Mbappe looks set to lead the line for his side once again.
