Senegal international Sadio Mane sat out of Bayern Munich’s last game after an altercation with a teammate.
Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has recalled Sadio Mane for Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final match against Manchester City.
Mane missed the 1-1 Bundesliga draw with Hoffenheim on Saturday. The club suspended him from the game following his infamous fallout with teammate Leroy Sane at the end of last week’s 3-0 first-leg defeat to Manchester City.
However, for the return fixture, Tuchel has drawn a line underneath the incident.
“Sadio is in the squad, we are not talking about the incident anymore — the decision was taken, we will have to wait until tomorrow to see if he starts or not, or off the bench,” Tuchel said.
On whether the Mane-Sane saga may have a galvanizing effect on his team, the Bayern boss added: “I hope we’d have used it against Hoffenheim, which we obviously didn’t.
“The subject died. The case is closed. I don’t think it’ll give us a big boost.”
Aside from Mane, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting may also return for Bayern. A knee injury had kept the striker out of the last three games.
