After getting one of the four semifinal tickets, Thomas Tuchel revealed who he wants to avoid in the Champions League next.
Real Madrid supporters won’t like getting underestimated by Thomas Tuchel as he just did ahead of the semifinals. He just stated that he prefers avoiding Liverpool instead of Los Blancos for the final four. But Real Madrid historically thrives when they underestimate them in this stage, especially by defensive clubs. Zinedine Zidane often uses these statements from anybody in order to motivate his players and today will be no different.
Although we still have no idea who will win tomorrow at Anfield Road, it is clear that Los Blancos have an advantage. Liverpool only scored a single away goal at Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium where they could’ve scored more. For Tuchel, it’s clear he lacks better knowledge of this season’s Real Madrid side. We are talking about the reigning La Liga champions and a club that won four out of five Champions League trophies not that long ago.
Tuchel’s diss against Real Madrid.
After winning against FC Porto with a defensive tactical approach, Tuchel was happy about the result but still cautious about the next rival. During an exchange with BT Sport, this is what Tuchel had to say: “I do not wish for nothing but in general in the Champions League I like not to play against teams from your own League because it gets more a bit the feeling of a European competition, but that is the only thing.
“Whoever deserves it. The game is far from over. There is nothing decided yet. Everything is possible. Liverpool is very strong at home and let’s see. The Premier League is very strong. We take what we get, it is a good situation for us I will watch it for sure and it is a pleasure to watch it as a semi-finalist. It is a great achievement.”
