The Chelsea boss was full of praise for academy star Anjorin, a talent he had known little about before taking charge.
Chelsea youngster Tino Anjorin has impressed Thomas Tuchel with his physicality, finishing ability, and attitude.
The 19-year-old midfielder has been a part of Chelsea for over a decade and debuted for the first-team in a 7-1 EFL Cup win against Grimsby Town in September 2019. He has since made four more appearances, and more could follow.
Tuchel has already selected Anjorin for the bench in the 2-0 Champions League win over Atletico Madrid recently and played him for 21 minutes in the 1-0 FA Cup victory against Barnsley last month.
Tino Anjorin has just received a really glowing reference from Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
He mentioned his physicality, personality, and quality of finishing in training.
Hopefully he gets some minutes this weekend. 🙏🏆#CFC pic.twitter.com/OonEKOVpSe

“I got to know Tino. I didn’t know much of him,” said Tuchel in his pre-match conference ahead of the club’s FA Cup match against Sheffield United on Sunday.
“I was very impressed because he’s very physical player. Tall guy, strong guy. He has the ability to keep the ball under pressure because he has the body for it.
“He has the physical ability to play and train with us on this level. He had some minutes with Barnsley in the cup game.
“We decided to keep him to get to know him better, not to send him out on loan. I’m happy about that. He is very strong in finishing. Very nice character. Nice guy from the academy.
“Very humble. Totally focused. Totally clear when you talk to him. Very self-aware.”
