Thomas Tuchel is strictly against racism in football as well as in general but has failed to confirm any racist remarks aimed at Neymar.

Paris Saint-Germain suffered their second successive Ligue 1 defeat on Saturday but it was not the fact that they remain winless this season that generated headlines.

Five players were given marching orders within just two minutes by referee Jerome Brisard as the latest Le Classique got pretty heated up towards the end.

Neymar, one of those five players, was seen arguing with Alvaro Gonzalez in the 96th minute. Leandro Paredes then proceeded to headbutt Alvaro to the ground after giving Dario Benedetto a taste of his fist in response to receiving a nudge from him.

The situation soon started to give a glimpse of what matches looked liked in the early ’80s as Layvin Kurzawa and Jordan Amavi also started a fight of their own.

Neymar justified his actions by saying that he had been racially abused by Alvaro. He even expressed regret over not striking his opponent in the face.

When asked about the incident after the match, Thomas Tuchel, however, failed to confirm his player’s claims

“What I heard? He [Neymar] told me that it was some racist insult, but I did not hear anything on the pitch,” Tuchel said, as per Goal.

“I think that everyone has the same opinion that racism in all the society, in sports or in our lives can’t exist. It’s obvious, but I did not hear that today, neither [did] the referee so I can’t answer this question.”
