Chelsea are under pressure on top of the league table, and the new injury updates will only please their opponents.

Mateo Kovacic and Ben Chilwell are out with long-term injuries as they have suffered ACL damage and hamstring injury, respectively.

N’Golo Kante was also absent in the Blues’ draw against Man United last week. The Chelsea midfielder twisted his knee in his side’s Champions League game against Juventus two weeks ago.

However, Chelsea might have to play without three more of their key players this Wednesday. Ahead of his side’s next Premier League game against Watford, Thomas Tuchel revealed his new injury concerns.

“For the game tomorrow at Watford, for sure we will be without Chilly, Kova and N’Golo who are all out and then we have some doubts over some other players that we need a bit more time on, to do some examinations on before deciding whether they can be involved,” he said (via 90min).

“Reece James, Jorginho and Timo Werner we will have to wait and then decide on. They all finished training with us today but there will be some last-minute decisions on those players for sure.”

Romelu Lukaku made his long-awaited return for Chelsea after suffering an ankle injury. When asked about the Belgian’s current form, Tuchel responded:

“He is ready to progress in minutes and this is where he is at right now.”

Chelsea are under immense pressure on top of the Premier League table. Manchester City are only a point away while Liverpool are also eying top spot being two points below the Blues.

After their game against Watford, Chelsea will face West Ham in their next league game on Saturday.
