The Blues boss has confirmed another injury setback for Pulisic following a shocking home defeat to West Brom in the Premier League.
Thomas Tuchel has revealed Christian Pulisic suffered another hamstring issue in Chelsea’s 5-2 defeat to West Brom on Saturday.
The American winger, who scored the opening goal at Stamford Bridge, experienced pain in his hamstring during a warm-up at half-time. Therefore, Tuchel played it safe by replacing him with Mason Mount.
It’s the fourth injury, and the second one with his hamstring, that Pulisic has suffered this season. He has also spent time on the sidelines with muscle and calf problems.
Christian Pulisic has missed 26 games through injury in his two seasons at Chelsea so far. He picked up another injury today.

“Christian did a sprint when he came back out for the second half and said that he felt his hamstring would not survive the game if he continued,” said Tuchel as quoted on Chelsea’s Fifth Stand App.
“So we had to make the decision to substitute him right away.”
Pulisic, who recently ended a 20-game goal drought during the international break, has suffered eight injuries since his 2019 arrival from Borussia Dortmund.
Given his decision to substitute the 22-year-old before his hamstring issue became more serious, however, Tuchel will hope it’s only a minor setback, especially with a first-leg clash with Porto coming up in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday.
