Ronaldo had a message for all the critics that have slammed him since Juventus’ early Champions League exit.

‘Football has memory… and so do I!,’ says Cristiano Ronaldo, who insists ‘true champions never break’.

After Juventus fell to a Champions League last-16 exit at the hands of a 10-man Porto this week, Ronaldo has been subject to heavy criticism. People have slammed his performance, lack of bravery, and even demanded an apology.

There have also been suggestions that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner should leave Juventus in the summer.

But now Ronaldo has spoken with a cryptic post on social media.

“More important than the number of falls you take in life, is how fast and how strong you get back on your feet…,” he wrote on Instagram.

“True champions never break! Our focus is already in Cagliari, in the Serie A struggle, in the Italian Cup final and in everything that we can still achieve this season.”

Ronaldo, as a five-time Ballon d’Or and Champions League winner, then emphasized on his past glories and how they can never be erased.

“It’s true that the past belongs in museums (I should say!), but fortunately, football has memory… and so do I!” Ronaldo continued.

“History can’t be deleted, it’s written every single day with resilience, team spirit, persistence and lots of hard work. And those who don’t understand this, will never achieve glory and success.”
