Top Story: Madrid Targeting Alonso and Wirtz

Real Madrid are planning future moves to acquire Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz and head coach Xabi Alonso, according to AS. This summer, Los Blancos are expected to bring in Kylian Mbappé, Endrick, and Alphonso Davies, limiting their capacity for additional notable signings. Even with Toni Kroos’ retirement, Madrid is unlikely to pursue another midfielder as Jude Bellingham is anticipated to play a deeper role, with Mbappé covering the goal-scoring deficit.

Despite this, Madrid are eyeing future prospects, with Wirtz, 21, being a top target due to his versatility and impressive tally of 18 goals and 20 assists in 48 matches this season. Alonso, currently coaching Leverkusen, is also being considered as a successor to Carlo Ancelotti. Madrid will closely monitor Leverkusen’s matches to track both Wirtz and Alonso.

  • Bayern Munich: Expected to appoint Vincent Kompany as head coach, Bayern are eyeing Manchester City winger Jack Grealish. Fabrizio Romano links them with RB Leipzig’s Dani Olmo, who has a €60 million release clause and interest from Barcelona and two Premier League clubs.
  • Éderson: After impressing in Atalanta’s midfield, the 24-year-old has attracted attention from Barcelona, Juventus, and Premier League clubs. Atletico Madrid are also interested, considering options like Feyenoord’s Mats Wieffer, Celtic’s Matt O’Riley, and others.
  • Al Hilal: The Saudi club is pursuing AC Milan winger Rafael Leão, with his father negotiating and Al Hilal ready to offer over €100m.
  • PSG: Paris Saint-Germain aim to sign Lille centre-back Leny Yoro but face stiff competition for the 18-year-old.
  • Bayern Munich Departures: Sport Bild lists potential exits including Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, Joshua Kimmich, and Alphonso Davies. MARCA reports Bayern nearing a deal for AC Milan left-back Theo Hernández, making Davies’ departure more likely.
