Transfer expert offers final verdict on Ronaldo's future

Fabrizio Romano, an Italian journalist who specializes in football transfers, has offered his insight on Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Juventus.

Cristiano Ronaldo is more than likely to stay at Juventus for at least one more season, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Despite Ronaldo’s prolific form last season, Juventus suffered another early Champions League exit. Their nine-year winning streak in Serie A ended, and they barely made the top-four. Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana titles were won, but it was still a mostly disappointing campaign.

Andrea Pirlo lost his job as manager, and there were rumors that Ronaldo could follow. The Portuguese, whose contract expires in 2022, has been linked with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain all summer.

But Romano claims no club has approached Juventus, and that Ronaldo hasn’t negotiated with anyone either.

“Juventus say they have not received anything from any club and I see it as really difficult for Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Juventus,” Romano said of CR7’s future on the Don Robbie YouTube Channel.

“He has a contract for €31 million net after taxes per season.

“So I don’t see any club with the possibilities to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. If not Paris Saint-Germain, but they are not talking about it with Juventus at the moment.

“So we will see during the summer, but Juventus are saying they have not received anything and also from the other side, he’s not negotiating with any club at the moment. So as of today, there is nothing.”

Ronaldo, meanwhile, reported back to Turin for pre-season training on Monday morning. The 36-year-old will reunite with former boss Massimiliano Allegri for a fourth season in Serie A.
