The north Londoners are targeting players in several areas as they close in on a deal for Ivan Perisic.
Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic has arrived in London to undergo a medical at Tottenham.
The 33-year-old Croatian is on the verge of joining Antonio Conte’s side on a two-year deal. He will sign on a free transfer, as his current Inter Milan contract finishes at the end of next month, and brings a wealth of experience at both club and international level to the team.
Perisic, who has won 113 caps for Croatia, scored in the 2018 World Cup final. The veteran can play in multiple positions across midfield and attack, and he impressed as a left wing-back during Inter’s title-winning Serie A campaign in 2020/21 under Conte.
The former Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich star will be the third Serie A player Tottenham have signed since Conte’s appointment as manager last November after Juventus pair Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski.
What are Spurs’ transfer plans?
After talking to the club’s managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, on Friday, Conte has since turned his attention to preparations for next season to silence doubts over his future.
According to Sky Sports, the club board has told the manager that the plan is to sign ‘at least six or seven players’.
Tottenham have several positions in mind to strengthen including a goalkeeper, center-back, wing-back, central midfielder, and striker.
