Weston McKennie might end up leaving Juventus this winter as Tottenham eye midfield improvement.
Weston McKennie did not make a great start to the current season. The Juventus midfielder got significantly less game time amid his poor form. However, he gradually regained his form, with Massimiliano Allegri then quickly reintegrating him into his lineup.
Juventus are struggling to get back to the top four in Serie A. However, a new report claims the Italian giants might lose McKennie this winter.
According to Tutto Juve, Tottenham are ready to make an offer for McKennie this winter. The Italian source claims the Spurs have been monitoring the American midfielder for months and are now about to take action.
Another Italian source, Calciomercato has reported Tottenham are willing to give a £25m offer for McKennie.
Juventus reportedly have no intention of selling McKennie. However, if they fail to offload Aaron Ramsey or Dejan Kulusevski, they might consider an offer for the 23-year-old.
McKennie’s contract at the Allianz Stadium runs until 2025, so Juventus might push for a higher fee. The club might cash in on the American to pursue a deal for Dusan Vlahovic.
With their unimpressive goalscoring stats this season, Juventus might even push for Vlahovic’s signing this winter. In that case, McKennie will most likely leave the club as finding suitors for Ramsey and Kulusevski would be challenging.
Juventus ended the year with a 2-0 win over Cagliari on Tuesday. The Bianconeri will face Napoli in a crunch league game on January 6.
