Great going forward and improved at the back, Spurs, as the scoreline suggests, were just head and shoulders above their opponents.
Gareth Bale seems to have finally found his old groove back. The Welshman left Real Madrid at the start of the season to reignite his declining career and appears to be doing just that.
Bale, who was handed a rare start in the league, was a standout performer in Tottenham’s 4-0 victory over Burnley. He put his side on the front foot in the first two minutes, beating the offside trap to tap the ball past Nick Pope.
The 31-year-old forward added another ten minutes after the break, firing a curling left-footed shot in off the far post as the goalkeeper stood motionless.
Sandwiched in between Bale’s brace were strikes from Harry Kane and Lucas Moura.
Kane, assisted by Bale, had doubled his side’s lead at the quarter of an hour while Moura had ensured that the hosts go into the break with a healthy three-goal lead.
The 4-0 win marks Tottenham’s biggest win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since December 2019. Their previous biggest win also came against Burnley, a 5-0 result.
