Harry Kane has been in phenomenal form for Tottenham this season and it’s no surprise the club are set to make a decision on his contract.
Amid reported interest from Manchester City, Tottenham have reportedly opened talks with talisman Harry Kane regarding a new contract.
The 27-year-old is on contract with Spurs until 2024, having signed a six-year extension with the club in 2018.
For obvious reasons, Harry Kane would be on the wishlist of a number of clubs and Spurs are ready to do whatever it takes to keep their star man in north London.
As per The Independent, club chairman Daniel Levy is ready to act early and has already opened talks with the England captain.
A new deal for Kane will mean a significant increase to his current wages of £200,000-a-week.
It comes after recent reports from German media claimed Manchester City were ready to make a €100m offer for the Spurs man to replace Sergio Aguero.
The appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as PSG boss also means he could be interested in a reunion with his former charge; especially if Kylian Mbappe leaves the club for any reason at all.
The report adds that Kane is happy to stay put at the club provided they continue competing for silverware. The 27-year-old is yet to win a trophy in his senior career.
Regardless, Kane continues to impress for Spurs this season and has formed a blistering partnership with Son Heung-Min.
The Englishman already has an impressive 17 goals and 14 assists this term and looks to be more of an all-round player under Jose Mourinho.
